Fabricating and Testing an Inline Twin-Cylinder Engine: Experimental Study

Abstract


The usage of lightweight and cost-efficient engine is trending in our market now. Here this project introduces a hand-built SI twin cylinder engine. It is the smallest and compact twin cylinder under 200cc displacement. 270-degree crankshaft configuration is used in this engine for optimum power delivery and reduced vibration. This engine uses dual fuel for power (DUAL FUEL). It is an alternative to market available high-performance engines that use petrol as the only fuel. The current form of twin cylinder engines is highly expensive and heavy. Fossil fuel depletion will be a major challenge in the upcoming times due to that hydrogen is used as secondary fuel. At present fuel price being very high it is very difficult for common people to afford multi-cylinder engines. The main alternative to this is to make a cost-effective engine with high fuel economy.
