A Review article on Ceramics and its application

Satyam Singh

Abstract

Historically, only materials made of clay were considered to be "ceramic." However, the range and variety of potential applications have been greatly increased by new ceramic material generations. The society and our way of life are significantly impacted by several of these contemporary products. Beyond its humble beginnings as clay pottery, ceramics has come a long way. Both the space shuttle and the floors in our kitchens are covered with ceramic tiles. Ceramic electrical components enable high-tech equipment for use in everything from entertainment to medical. Ceramics are undoubtedly our doorway to the future.

Clay minerals like kaolinite are among the traditional ceramic raw ingredients. More contemporary sources include aluminium oxide, sometimes known as alumina. Silicon carbide and tungsten carbide are examples of contemporary ceramic materials, which are categorised as advanced ceramics. Both are used in applications like the wear plates of crushing equipment in mining operations because they are appreciated for their abrasion resistance. The medical, electrical, and electronics industries all use advanced ceramics.

Keywords
