Analysis of Power Train Design of EV

Abstract


This paper represents a simulation evaluation of performance of the electric vehicle powertrain. Simulation has been performed of different settings for the powertrain and then the performance of each cycle is tested and compared. The motor used in the simulation is permanent magnet synchronous motor, a power converter with the gate drivers, a controller and battery. Four-wheeler passenger car has been selected for designing. The power train is designed, and simulation is performed on MATLAB Simulink.The performance of the EV is examined in this paper based on theoretical calculations made with its specs. The time and cost for designing these complicated systems can be significantly decreased with a suitable system simulation tool. A simulation model should be useful for assessing different control algorithms and should be able to effectively co-simulate with vehicle simulation programmes. The simulation testing demonstrated the EV's suitability for use in a variety of road conditions.
