Regression analysis of noise parameters of power generators of thermal power plants

SAURAV NANDI, Debamalya Banerjee, Somnath Gangopadhyay, Titas Nandi

Abstract

The power generating units of the thermal power plants are predominantly responsible for the generation of acoustic noise. Workers who are working in this area are directly exposed to this noise. In today's world, the necessity of power in human life is enormous, and during its generation, a good number of workers are being exposed to the said noise on a daily basis. The present investigation is to construct and evaluate the prediction tool for the estimation of noise exposure levels on the workers through power generators in different thermal power plants. To establish the relationship between noises generated with respect to the following factors: ageing of thermal power generators, their working steam pressure, temperature and electrical power output are considered and analysed using regression analysis.
