Abstract

A power drill is a tool fitted with a cutting tool attachment or driving tool attachment, usually a drill bit or driver bit, used for boring holes in various materials or attaching a variety of tools all together with the use of fastenings. The connection is riveted by a chuck at one end of the drill and replaced while pushed against the target substance. It is hard to determine when it is actually safe to drill a hole on a surface. This project mainly deals with the safety factors of the drill bit by introducing sensors. Major hazards of using a power drill are hitting a live wire, GI pipe, and PVC pipe. This could cause harm to the operator as well as the drill bit is used. The main objective of this project is to avoid such hazards and improve the safety of the operator. Along with the safety measures, a depth control mechanism of the drilled hole is also being fabricated on the power drill.
