Abstract

In manufacturing and fabrication industries, composite material has wide use which shows impressive mechanical properties such as strength and stiffness. The increased environmental awareness and consciousness throughout the world has developed an ever- increasing interest in natural fibre. While fabricating the glass or carbon fibres, a lot of toxic gases are emitted in the atmosphere. Therefore, a better feasible solution is to replace such petroleum derived fibres with naturally derived fibres. The present work describes the fabrication of natural fibre based polymer bio composites consisting of banyan roots fibre as reinforcement and epoxy resin as matrix material.
