A Review on Comparative Study on Performance of Vertical Cantilever Tuned Mass Damper and Base Isolators in Response Reduction of Multistory Building

Sarosh Ahmed khan, Shaikh Zubair

Abstract

The present work concerned with the study on the comparison of performance of vertical cantilever beam as tuned mass damper (TMD) and the base isolator in high-rise RCC structure. The vertical TMD will be at the top floor at the position of interior columns and the mass of the TMD will be tuned with the primary structure. The base isolator like sliding bearing system will be designed for a multistory building and the results will be evaluated and compared. The present study gives an overview of different research works on the parameters, displacement, drift and stiffness, in high rise under the consideration of seismic analysis
