Abstract

This paper aims to design and manufacture an intake system for FSAE single-cylinder automobile engine. the foundations are imposed on the introduction of a restrictor within the intake system of the engine. The FSAE rules committee imposed a rule that power the utilization of restrictor in of any internal-combustion engine employed in the competition should be limited by a 20 mm intake restrictor. The utilization of restrictor within the manifold is to limit mass flow passing to the engine to scale back its maximum power. the most objective of this paper is to optimize the Venturi to take care of a continuing mass flow after passing through a restrictor. Experimentation showed that converging and diverging angles of 12 and 6 encourage maximize the pressure loss because of the 20 mm restrictor. The implementation of plenum and runner is to recover the loss of pressure after the restriction to its thanks to the engine. the entire design is modeled on SOLIDWORKS 2019 software and therefore the analysis is performed on the ANSYS CFD tool. The core manufacturing process is Rapid Prototyping is taken into account because of light weightiness of ultimate product, material flexibility, elimination of ultimate finishing process and increase in strength of the ultimate product.
