Design and Analysis of Body Panel of FSAE Race Car: A Review

Shubhaseesh Srivastava

Abstract

This article’s purpose is to make a body panel for the FSAE race car. Teams of university undergraduate and graduate students are challenged to design, build, develop, and compete with miniature, formula-style vehicles in the student formula contests. The engine’s power is limited by many restrictions and regulations, such as the installation of an air restrictor. As a result, in order to compensate for the lack of power, the goal changes to reducing weight without compromising the vehicle’s strength in order to attain a high Power: Weight ratio. The body panel is an important aspect of the vehicle since it incorporates aerodynamics and enhances the vehicle’s aesthetic appearance. It is also easy to lose weight in this area because high strength is not necessary. As a result, we get a beautiful body panel with suitable strength and flexibility for a reasonable price.
