Design and Finite Element Analysis of Refractory Boiler Shell for Optimum Weight

Abstract


This paper deals with the stress analysis of boiler shell with refactory. By using finite element method, a stress analysis has been carried out under the application of pressure at the inner surface of boiler shell. Von-Mises stresses and maximum shear stresses are found. Currently we are working on the condition in order to find temperature distribution so that it will be helpful for us to get thermal analysis and structural analysis. Modeling has been done by CATIA V5 and analysis of boiler shell has been done by ANSYS (Workbench) with a version 14.5.
