A Review on Internet of Robotic Things

Shweta Varshney

Abstract

The Internet of Robotic Things (IoRT) is a new concept that combines ubiquitous sensors and items with robotic and autonomous systems. This study looks at how combining robotics with Internet of Things technology may improve the capabilities of both present Internet of Things and robotic systems, allowing for the creation of new, possibly disruptive services. We go over some of the new technological issues that this merger has brought, and we come to the conclusion that a truly holistic approach is needed but currently lacking. As the Internet and “things” have evolved in recent years, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial IoT (IIoT) have gained in popularity. Simple RFID devices have evolved into smart wireless sensors, intelligent wireless sensors and actuators, robotic things, and self-driving cars that operate in consumer, corporate, and industrial environments. The rise of “intelligent things” (static or mobile) in collaborative autonomous fleets needs new architectures, networking paradigms, trustworthiness frameworks, and platforms for the integration of applications across diverse commercial and industrial sectors. These new applications have hastened the development of autonomous system design paradigms and the growth of the Internet of Robotic Things (IoRT).
