A Review on Friction Stir Welding of Various Tool Geometry

Maulikkumar Babulal Patel, Komal G. Dave

Abstract

Friction stir technology (FSW) is called a novel technology from the past two decades and it is invented at TWI 1991 U.K. It is becoming an emerging technique with its different applications such as ship buildings, helicopter and aerospace, high speed train, trucks bodies, etc. FSW is a one type of solid state joining techniques, it is used a rotating tool (nonconsumable tool). FSW impacts on welding caused to the welders as well as environment. In these studied various tools and it is used for the joining method and their mechanical properties were discussed. In this studied found different input parameters and its effect on the mechanical properties.
