Investigation and Design Modification in Exhaust Manifold Through Static Structural Analysis Using Hypermesh
Keywords:

The aim of the study is to examine the feasibility of an exhaust manifold used in four cylinder diesel engine as per the standard dimensions. The CAD modeling of the exhaust manifold of 4-1 tubular type is done using PTC Creo parametric 3.0. After the CAD modelling of the exhaust manifold, the Modal analysis is performed to validate the natural frequency for different mode shapes. And further, the static structural analysis is done for checking the static stability due to its self-weight. The principal followed for the static structural analysis is that the exhaust manifold is considered as a cantilever beam in which the inlet gasket are kept fixed and the outlet gasket is taken under gravity and vice versa.References
