In hydrostatic bearing, the oil or lubricant is supplied to the required place in bearing from external source that place is the recess. The oil enters axially and leaves perpendicularly. The important task for the purpose of analysis is finding pressure distribution in the recess. The problem here is that, it is possible to find out analytical solution for one dimension, but it is not possible to find out pressure distribution in the recess for two-dimensions.References
