Abstract

The study was based on design of experiment using Taguchi Orthogonal Array with three parameters namely height of sewing machine table, angular movement of sewing machine table & sliding movement of sewing machine table considered for experimentation. An orthogonal Array of L9 experimental design was adopted & 3 angles namely trunk angle, head angle & neck angle was measured for each experimental run. Then the reading for female & male operator was separated & the qualitative analysis has been done on the basis of operator’s opinion. From this qualitative analysis the optimize position for sewing machine operator has been determined so that operator’s can work longer without any stress at back.(i.e Risk of musculoskeletal disorder would be lower)
