Green Manufacturing Implementation Framework for Ethiopian Manufacturing Industry

In the current period of fierce market competition, industries are introducing efficient production processes to ensure their existence. The rate of contamination of natural resources such as water, soil, and air are increasing due to industrial waste. Rapid environmental degradation has demanded that enterprises worldwide adopt environmentally responsible manufacturing practises. Green manufacturing methods were envisaged and implemented in this context by large-scale firms in industrialised countries. Managing green manufacturing practises holistically within organisations is difficult and necessitates a clear and effective management framework that integrates all associated practises and performance dimensions in order to achieve excellence. This research gives a conceptual framework for green manufacturing to be adopted within a manufacturing organisation, which will aid the operations manager in the development of more environmentally friendly processes and products. Thus, through a thorough and rigorous review of the relevant literature, a framework is constructed that describes the dynamic process of green products and green processes in manufacturing organisations. This study puts forth a comprehensive conceptual framework as a solution to the problem of insufficient green manufacturing models, which the study identifies as a gap that needs to be filled. To fully realise the potential benefits that environmentally friendly production may offer to businesses, practitioners, researchers, and academicians need guidelines that are both thorough and practical. Practitioners, managers, academics, and policymakers in the service and industrial sectors will benefit from this study. This is the first examination of how Ethiopian manufacturing enterprises apply GM practices, which can serve as a model for other companies undertaking environmental programs.References
