Friction Stir Welding: A Green Approach for Joining

Saurav Semwal, Maneesh Tewari

Abstract

As can be seen today, the amount of CO2 and other pollutants has increased. The reason for this is due to the industrial revolution of the last decades. Every country wants to increase its economy, due to which various types of industries are developing and emissions of pollutants are increasing and at the same time our natural resources are ending. To avoid this type of problem, now the industries will have to adopt a new option called green technology. This paper explains the hazards to health from traditional or conventional welding and also explains the green approach of welding “friction stir welding”. This paper also describes the benefits of friction stir welding for the joining of dissimilar metals.
