Software Simulation of Solar Tunnel Dryer

Abstract


Solar tunnel dryers are used for production of low temperature in industrial applications. Drying of resin coated marble is one of such examples. Solar radiation, time of drying, ambient temperature, relative humidity, air velocity and material of cover are some factors which are responsible for raising the temperature inside the dryer. The model of the solar tunnel dryer has been created in SOLIDWORKS 2018 and analyzed in SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation 2018 SP0.0. With the help of computer software, the designs of solar tunnel dryers are optimized. Simulation on solar tunnel dryers has been done to find out the distribution of temperature achieved in the dryer after a fixed time. The direction of Solar Radiation is applied in three directions i.e. x, y, z. The obtained results have been validated with experimental work. The simulated model results are in close agreement with experimental results.
