PRODUCTIVITY ENHANCEMENT THROUGH WASTE ELIMINATION IN MATCH BOX INDUSTRY

R. Adersh Srinivas, P. Pravin Kumar

Abstract

The small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) have gained dramatic increase in different areas like employment, export in the recent years. Even though the technology and skills has grown-up in vast manner even now some deviations like outdated production process and equipment that still exist in SME's, since small scale industry did not setup scientific decision making and modern management systems, resulting in shortage of production and quality issues. Therefore eliminating the waste/non value added activities plays a vital role to enhance the productivity. Using MUDA, a lean tool the present research proposes an increase in productivity by utilizing the labor’s effectively.
