Facial Recognition and Modification Using Evolutionary Algorithm

Anju Vikraman, Rajkumar E

Abstract

The cosmetics field is witnessing an uprising due to increase in popularity and acceptance of plastic surgery procedures to correct facial anomalies and improve facial appearance. This sudden surge of popularity can be attributed to reduction in cost and time required for these procedures. Therefore, such techniques are helpful to patients suffering from various disorders due to structural defects and skin disorders. But altering facial geometry increases the interclass variability between pre-surgery and post-surgery images of the same individual. Variations caused by such procedures are usually irreversible as well. This paper dealt with multi-objective evolutionary granular algorithm with the aim of recognizing faces even after a surgical procedure, or also in the presence of any variation in appearance, texture and structural geometry.
