System Design for Reconfigurable Manufacturing

Abstract


The management approach in the first system is to arrange operations to run for as long as feasible.
These strategies are designed to reduce undesirable changeovers while maximizing potential
productivity. Because the continuous manufacturing program does not address the underlying
problem of equipment dependability. The second system, on the other hand, is developed with
strategic and system design purpose. First, it has just one paint line, which ensures that the cycle time
matches the take time. When they added the second vehicle line, they designed a second similar
module as a modular chunk capacity. Capacity implementation in modular chunks offers the benefit of
known system cost and future. Because the finite element approach with simple beam is less
expensive, it may be utilized for bumper impact testing rather than experimental testing. By
introducing the RMS, the components of the reconfigurable manufacturing system, features of the
manufacturing system, and capabilities of the system, the system plays an active role in the supporting
area, which is highly advantageous to the manufacturing system. To compete with global economic
rivalry and quick changes, producers must confront a new economic objective: manufacturing
responsiveness, which RMS is required for. Because they are built from the start with the
customizable resource to deliver the desired functionality and capacity as needed. RMS's study
domain is wide, with various possibilities for future research. To build RMS technique, qualitative
assessment should be performed.
