Abstract

The technology advancement has envisaged going for near net shape of the produces. Also, near netshapes formed are again cold upset for obtaining a final shape of the Product. In this study a general scheme expressing the factors which affect a workability of Sintering aluminium powder preforms. This work deals with an experimental determination Workability of Sintering Aluminium powder preforms is limited by their density. A standard of rings of ratio 6:3:2 produced under a constant compacting pressure of 240.7 (Mpa) and sintered at 525 ± 10° C, 550 ± 10° C and 575 ± 10° C were tested. Workability determined in compression tests depends strongly on a sintered density, independently of the chemical composition of aluminium powders.A linear dependence between workability and sintered density was found. The results are related to relatively high density values, taken from the range of 0.85-0.96 of theoretical density. The Sintering Preforms were measured using a digital vernier. Graph was established between critical reduction and relative density for different sintering temperature considered. Also graphs between relative density and sintering temperature were established.
